GOAL: InterContinental brought on the Katalyst social team to assist in curating a strong brand voice and aesthetic on social media. The hotel saw a need to expand its presence on Instagram and be positioned as a desirable lodging destination in San Diego. Specific goals included increasing account reach and exposure, growing the social following month over month, and driving clicks to the website.



STRATEGY: Katalyst is focused on increasing reach through the use of short-form reels. Partnering with lifestyle and travel influencers to administer user-generated content in the form of Reels and TikTok videos has also been a primary focus. Katalyst also facilitates Instagram collaborations with brand-aligned partners to help grow account followers month over month. One key thing Katalyst takes into consideration when creating content is ensuring the content resonates and is of value to the audience. It is primarily through the use of engagement-driving Instagram stories and posts that our team has been able to build a loyal and trusting relationship with followers. 



RESULTS: Since enacting a weekly Reels schedule, InterContinental’s Instagram has seen account reach increase by nearly 45%. This short-form video content, showcasing the hotel and its offerings, has attracted a greater audience of travelers coming from Los Angeles, while continuing to attract locals to the property’s page. The hotel’s Instagram has also seen an increase in engagement per post, resulting in a higher volume of profile views and website clicks. Since beginning work with Katalyst, the click-through rate has risen to 82.65%. Katalyst has also successfully grown the page's followers from 3,000 people to a little over 3,500 in 6 months.
