GOAL: Good Lion Hospitality engaged Katalyst in January of 2023 to help build awareness for their established bars and openings of upcoming projects on a local, regional and national level. With three bars in Santa Barbara, two in Ventura and the opening of a boutique hotel property in San Luis Obispo, the Good Lion Hospitality team saw an opportunity to raise their profile across all avenues with Katalyst’s help.

STRATEGY: Focusing on the team and their knowledge of cocktails and spirits, along with the uniqueness of each venue, Katalyst shared an introduction pitch to beverage, lifestyle, travel and food media about Good Lion Hospitality and their collection of bars. Katalyst continues to highlight co-founder Brandon Ristaino as a leader in the cocktail industry, gaining share of voice for all of the Good Lion bars, while positioning them as destinations for travelers to the Santa Barbara region and mainstays for locals. Locally, Katalyst has been engaging influencers and supporting partnerships to help amplify the group.

RESULT: By building on the bar brands and the expertise of the team, a wide range of media placements have been secured for Good Lion Hospitality including: The New York Times, Men’s Journal, Liquor.com, Lonely Planet, MarketWatch, Thrillist, Yahoo! Life, Martha Stewart Living, UPROXX, Better Homes & Gardens and locally with the Independent, 805 Living, Visit Santa Barbara and more. The team continues to see value in Katalyst’s partnership and is working together to launch the opening of their hotel and a new bar in 2024.
