Celebrate Opening Day At These Petco Park Pit Stops

With the MLB negotiations over, and a new opening day set for April 7, baseball fans around San Diego are gearing up to cheer on the Padres in their home opener on April 14. While diehard fans may be hyper focused on the game, many fans will be flocking towards Petco Park to take in the atmosphere and, of course, indulge in some ballpark eats. For those that are planning to attend a game this season, here are several eateries within and around the ballpark that are must hits during any visit to Petco Park.

Puesto

Your favorite Mexico City-style cuisine is opening a second stand at Petco Park just in time for baseball season. Replacing the existing “Craft Beers of San Diego'' stand (middle field level section 107), offering a more extensive menu than its sister stand located on the opposite side of the park. Both menus will feature Quesabirria and Chicken Al Pastor Tacos, Puesto Perfect Guacamole and the Cadillac Margarita, where the new location, easily recognized by its brightly hued Puesto sign, will also offer Birria Nachos, Chicken Al Pastor Burrito, Frozen Margarita, Frozen Piña Colada and  Puesto Clara, the clean and refreshing traditional Mexican-style light lager which is brewed at their Mission Valley Cervecería. Join us to cheer on the Padres with a taco in hand at one of Puesto’s two Petco Park locations!

Good Time Design Venues: The Blind Burro The Deck at Moonshine Flats, and Lucky’s Lunch Counter

With three locations adjacent to the ballpark, local hospitality group Good Time Design specializes in game day eats. The group owns and operates The Deck at Moonshine Flats, Lucky’s Lunch Counter, and The Blind Burro, all of which are on 7th avenue, making them ideal for a pre or post-game bite or drink. The Deck is connected to beloved honky tonk bar Moonshine Flats and offers a menu focused on BBQ and classic bar bites, as well as cocktails, beer and wine. Lucky’s Lunch Counter can be found next door, offering all day breakfast and sandwiches, making it the perfect stop for a mid-day game. Up the street, The Blind Burro specializes in Baja-inspired cuisine, highlighting menu items like tacos, Mexican street corn, and nachos, as well as margaritas and specialty cocktails, including the “Casa-Tatis” in honor of Fernando Tatis Jr.
