At Katalyst, we love keeping up with the latest and greatest social media trends. That is why we wanted to pull together 5 tips and tricks that we like to keep in mind when creating Instagram content for our clients. These tips also apply to content you create for your personal page, too!

STORIES

  1. Use more original, full portrait images (1080px by 1920px) for stories. We have found that original story content will receive double or triple the views than non-original or reposted content. Plus, using full portrait images is more eye-catching and more likely to keep the attention of viewers on your stories.

    ENGAGEMENT

  2. Make sure to give love to the peoples’ posts you enjoy seeing. The more post interactions (likes, comments, saves, shares) you receive, the better chance your post has in moving to the top of someone's feed.

    CONTENT

  3. Show more behind-the-scenes elements. Moving away from the social media scene are filters and sales messaging and entering is a new wave of authentic, storytelling content. Not only does this type of content drive a higher level of engagement but it allows you to build a more trusting relationship with your audience.

    GUIDES

  4. Use Instagram Guides to your unique advantage. Guides on IG allow you to highlight places, posts, or products you are loving and want to share with your followers. They are basically like the inside scoop to the coolest places around town or new products on the market that you would want to send to a BFF. We are predicting this is a feature that will be gaining popularity in the coming months.

    SCHEDULING

  5. Use Later to schedule your content in batches. In our opinion, Later is the most efficient out of all the scheduling platforms. It not only has great insights on when is the right time to in the day to post (very helpful) but it provides very thorough audience demographics, post & story performance, and hashtag analytics. The cherry on top is it makes scheduling content in batches SO simple.

Whether you learnt something new or you were simply reminded of something you already knew, we hope applying these tips will up-level your content strategy. 😊 Stay tuned for more social tips coming in the future!
