Prior to founding Katalyst, Katherine worked at several top lifestyle PR firms directing the publicity campaigns for brands like the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, Stingaree Nightclub, Chef Brian Malarkey, Searsucker Restaurant, Jet Rhys Salon, The Cohn Restaurant Group, Whisknladle and Prepkitchen. She also spent several years working both in-house and launching and online boutique, where she led all the communications’ efforts. This vast experience has given Katherine an amazing understanding and high-level view of PR, marketing and social media. In 2010, armed with this knowledge, ten years of experience, and stellar media relationships, she founded Katalyst PR. The goal on day one was – and still is – to work with brands and industries she was passionate about and loves. Fast-forward to today and you will see a roster of successful client relationships and PR campaigns she and her team have forged, all while staying true to providing value-driven service for clients.

Fiona got her start in PR at a full-service San Diego and Orange County agency with high-profile accounts in the entertainment, lifestyle, hospitality and fashion industries. Prior to joining Katalyst, Fiona helped execute public relations strategies for companies such as Ted Baker London, Hermès, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, Vin De Syrah, La Puerta, Newport Beach Film Festival, Orange County Film Society and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Through her excellent relationships with media, Fiona has secured placements in national and local outlets such as Westways, Los Angeles Times, Riviera, U-T San Diego, San Diego Magazine, CityBeat, San Diego’s FM 94.9, Fox 5 San Diego and Univision. In addition to media relations, her strengths and passion lie in event and media planning for her clients. Fiona is a graduate of University of California, San Diego where she majored in Psychology and minored in Communication.

Paulina Millan, Publicity Assistant at Katalyst PR, a team player with expertise in networking, campaigns, and event planning, is bi-cultural and bi-coastal. Paulina has worked on publicity campaigns in New York and San Diego and brings with her not only her passion for communication but a true love for public relations. Her travels coupled with her education, provided the inspiration for working hard in all the she does having secured a multitude of press coverage in The San Diego Union Tribune, NBC 7 San Diego, San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles, Eater San Diego, Zagat, Ranch & Coast, Thrillist, San Diego Magazine, Pacific Magazine, WHERE Magazine and Healthy Travel Magazine.
A San Diego native, Paulina graduated from Manhattan College in New York City with a major in Communications and a concentration in Public Relations. With a love for travel, Paulina studied abroad in Madrid for four months at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and received a minor in Spanish. Paulina is currently the Events Co-Chair for the Public Relations Society of America-San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter.
DAWN TRIEMSTRA SEYMOUR | CULINARY PR CONSULTANT
Dawn Triemstra Seymour has 10 years of media and public relations experience which started while she was an editor for Riviera Magazine in Orange County and San Diego. Dawn was previously an account manager at J Public Relations where she lead the culinary division and worked with clients including, George’s at the Cove, Sprinkles Cupcakes, The Grant Grill and True Food Kitchen. Dawn is currently a freelance PR and media consultant focusing on gaining local, regional and national media coverage for food and restaurant clients. A San Diego native, home cook and avid restaurant visitor, Dawn has been able to combine her love of food with her passion for PR. Dawn graduated from UC, Santa Barbara with a degree in English and has her Masters in Journalism from American University in Washington, DC. She has an embarrassingly large collection of cookbooks and a one-year old son.
